Wisteria Shadows

November 15, 2012 § 3 Comments

I hope I never take the beauty that surrounds me for granted.   Is it because I am filled with the love of the Lord that I find everything around me so inspiring?   Is it reflecting on the deep affection I have for the man I will marry?  Is Portland truly this beautiful?  I believe it’s a mixture of all of the above.

God’s goodness and beauty is truly unfathomable.  Even His overgrown wisteria casting shadows warms my heart.  I don’t need to be anywhere special to experience the Lord – it can happen in a soaked backyard, filled with yard tools scattered around.  It can happen when I look at Jay’s face and see how God has created this man in His image – it is a gift.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”  (Genesis 1:27)

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.  He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”  (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
